Serious question, why do people keep mixing up the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing with a different event?

I keep seeing comments online that confuse the OKC bombing with the 1993 Waco siege, saying they were the same weekend. They were two years apart. This matters because getting basic facts wrong makes any real debate about motives or possible connections impossible. I know because I checked the actual dates in a library archive in Tulsa last month. Has anyone else noticed this specific date mix-up happening more often?

Yeah, I used to get those dates mixed up too... thought they were closer together. Seeing the actual archive dates really makes you realize how the timeline gets blurred.

Wait, you saw the actual dates in a Tulsa library? That's wild. Pat_coleman is right, it's so easy for the timeline to get fuzzy. How do people mix up two whole years?

Honestly, my buddy was trying to explain the whole thing to his kid last year and totally flipped the dates. He was so sure they happened back to back because one news story he watched as a teen linked them together. Tbh it took him finding an old newspaper clipping at a garage sale to finally see the two year gap. He felt pretty silly but it shows how one wrong fact can stick in your head forever.
