I just hit 500 haircuts in my first year out of beauty school

I kept a little notebook and counted every single one, and I hit 500 yesterday. It feels like a big deal because I was so nervous about building a client base when I started. Do you guys track your numbers like that, or is it just me?

My first year out I tracked every single service in a spreadsheet. It really helped me see which referrals were working and where my repeat clients came from. That focus on the numbers was key for building my schedule.

Totally agree, I did the same thing with a notebook. Seeing those patterns on paper made all the difference.

Honestly, tracking in a spreadsheet is smart, but I'd say the key was less about the numbers themselves and more about you actually looking at them regularly.
