Rant: my mic died mid stream and a viewer clipped the silence, now it's my most watched video
So last Tuesday I'm doing my usual Friday night hangout on Twitch, about 40 minutes in, and my USB mic just cuts out. No warning, no static, nothing. I keep talking for a solid 3 minutes because I had headphones on and didn't notice, just yapping away about some game update. Then chat starts spamming "WE CAN'T HEAR YOU" and I finally look at my levels and it's flatlined. I panicked, unplugged the cable, plugged it back in, still dead, so I ended up finishing the stream typing everything in chat like it was 2004. Figured it was a total disaster. Next morning a regular named greasyjoey22 clipped the 3 minutes of pure silence with my face just moving and posted it. It hit 90k views in 4 days, which is triple anything else I've ever made. I still don't know if the cable was bad or if the port on my laptop is dying. Anyone else had a gear fail turn into your best performing clip?
