That comment about my old glow-up post still stings, but they were right

I dug up a picture from 2014 where I captioned it "glow up complete" with a selfie taken in a gas station bathroom in Tulsa. Someone commented "the lighting is doing all the work" and I was salty for days. They were totally right though, I had no idea how to actually take a decent photo. Now I just point out bad angles in my old posts before anyone else can, it's way easier to laugh at myself first. Anyone else get roasted in a way that accidentally improved their content?

Four years ago some guy roasted my drone shots as "fancy vacation pics with no story" and I was pissed for a week. Honestly, he was right though, now I actually think about what I'm trying to say with each photo instead of just posting pretty clouds. It's just a hobby, so maybe getting mad over feedback is the real glow up failure.

That one comment probably saved you years of boring shots though. It took me like five critiques from randos before I even started asking myself what the point of each frame is. Now half my old photos feel like test footage instead of stories.
