Tried a drawing tablet after years of mouse-only art, surprised myself
I mean, I've been doing digital art with a mouse for like 6 years because I thought tablets were overpriced and gimmicky. Last month my buddy in Austin let me borrow his old Wacom Intuos for a week, and honestly it felt wrong at first, like my hand and eyes were fighting. But by day 3 I was shading a portrait in half the time it usually takes me with a mouse, and the line work actually looked smooth instead of jagged. The pressure sensitivity thing is real, I finally get why everyone keeps posting those speed paints. I still think $300 for a new one is steep, but now I'm eyeing a used model on eBay for around $80. Has anyone else switched from mouse to tablet late and felt dumb for waiting so long? Or do some of you still swear by mouse only for certain styles?
