Tried a three-color rule for my pieces. My online gallery looks way more cohesive now.

Funny how putting tight limits on colors can actually open things up. Sticking to just five colors last year forced me to mix shades and play with saturation instead of reaching for a new tube. It cut down on silly decisions and made everything I finished feel like part of a set. My own site looked less like a garage sale and more like a real show.

Question if three colors are really that big a deal, @seth_miller.

Totally! Restricting your palette like that forces some creative problem solving, I've found. It stops me from just adding another color when something feels off and makes me work on value and texture instead. I got the tip from an old painting teacher and it really changed how I build a series. That limited choice actually speeds things up once you get used to it. It makes your whole body of work feel connected, like everything is speaking the same visual language. Seriously smart move for an online gallery, it just looks more professional right away.
