Had a big vinyl plank job last week where the pallet was supposed to arrive Tuesday. Didn't get there until Friday afternoon, so my crew was twiddling their thumbs. Client was mad because their move-in date got pushed back. Now I'm eating the cost for the lost days.

Unpopular opinion: Fabric store lighting makes color matching impossible

I was picking out thread for a dress I'm sketching... and under the store lights, everything looked perfect. Got home and the teal I chose is totally green in natural light. This happens every time I try to match shades for a project. The fluorescent bulbs in most fabric shops wash out the true colors, so you can't trust what you see. I've ended up with mismatched pieces more than once because of it. How do you all get around this? Do you bring color swatches outside to check, or is there a trick I'm missing? It's frustrating when a design idea gets messed up by something as simple as bad lighting.
