Heard a homeowner in Springfield call our work 'just slapping up boards'

I was picking up a coffee last week and overheard a guy telling his friend his remodel was delayed because 'the drywall guys are just slapping up boards, it's simple.' It really got under my skin because he has no idea about taping, mudding, or getting a level 5 finish. Has anyone else had to explain the real skill in our job to a client who thought it was easy?

My cousin tried DIY mudding once and it looked like a war zone.

A buddy of mine decided to skim coat his own ceiling. He ended up with more ridges than a potato chip bag. We still call it the popcorn incident.

My neighbor tried to DIY his garage drywall and now it looks like a topographical map of the moon.
