Found out OSB costs way more than plywood now in Edmonton

I was pricing materials for a shed build last week at Home Depot on 99 Street. OSB was $58 a sheet and 1/2 inch plywood was $52. I double checked cause I always thought OSB was the cheap option. The guy in lumber said it flipped about 18 months ago due to mill closures. Has anyone else noticed this screwing up their project budgets?

$6 difference barely covers a McDonald's combo meal these days.

Yeah and it's wild because $6 used to feel like a small gap but now it's like a full meal. That's the thing with inflation though, it hits everything at once so a five dollar difference on a bill feels like nothing but adds up across your whole month. I notice it most at the grocery store where I'm buying the same stuff as last year but paying almost 20% more. It's like the whole economy quietly shifted and no amount of coupon clipping or budgeting fixes it. Just makes you wonder where the floor is on all this.
