Shoutout to that day my kitchen reno finally went right

Man, last Tuesday was a nightmare with our cabinet install. The guy showed up 2 hours late and then realized he forgot the soft-close hinges at his shop in St. Albert. So we had to wait another 45 minutes while he drove back. But then Thursday came and everything clicked. The countertop guys from Granite World showed up right at 8 AM, got the quartz slab cut and fitted in under 4 hours, and it lined up perfectly with the sink cutout. No cracks, no gaps, no fighting with the level like I expected after the cabinet mess. My wife even said it was the smoothest part of this whole 3-month project so far. Has anyone else had a day where a reno actually went faster and better than you thought?

Right on about that "smoother than expected" feeling. I had one day during my bathroom tile job where the floor leveler actually self-leveled perfectly, no air bubbles or weird ridges, just set up flat as a pancake. It was like the universe finally threw me a bone after weeks of fighting with crooked walls and bad measurements. That feeling when a project just clicks is what keeps us coming back for more DIY punishment, honestly. Soak it in.

Read something in a woodworking magazine once that said when things go perfect like that, it's the project trying to make up for all its past sins. That floor leveler story reminds me of the one time I poured a concrete countertop and it didn't crack or bubble up at all. Just set smooth and solid like it knew what it was doing. Makes you believe in dumb luck or something
