Shoutout to the old fuse panels I swapped out last summer

Pulled a 1960s Pushmatic panel in a house near Oak Park and put in a new 200 amp service. The difference in wire management and safety is night and day. Any of you guys still running into these dinosaur panels on the regular?

You ever read about how those old Pushmatic panels can actually melt the bus bars before the breaker even trips?

Switched out a Pushmatic panel in my buddy's house a few years ago and found the same issue, one bus bar was already pitted and looked like it had gotten hot a few times. Replaced the whole thing with a modern Square D panel and it was a night and day difference, everything runs way smoother now.

Honestly I used to think people were overreacting about those old panels but reading about the melted bus bars thing totally changed my mind. That's gnarly.
