Swapped from push-in connectors to Wagos after a service call nightmare
Was working on a 3 year old remodel in Austin last Tuesday and found 4 push-in connectors melted in a junction box. Could see the copper was all pitted and loose. Switched to lever Wagos on that job and the connection felt way more solid, plus it's easier to troubleshoot. Anyone else seen failures with the cheap push-ins on high draw circuits?

Found 3 melted push-ins in a bathroom remodel last month on a 20 amp lighting circuit. Swapped to Wagos and haven't seen a problem since.

That's wild lol, seen so many push-in failures in bathrooms specifically. Had a buddy find melted ones on a 15 amp kitchen lighting circuit last year, switched everything to Wagos and no issues since. @hugoh55 might have had good luck but in my experience, humidity kills those push-ins over time. Bathroom moisture does something weird to the connections, like they slowly corrode and heat up. Found that old push-in plugs on smoke detectors fail way faster in high humidity rooms too.

Huh, I gotta push back a little here @lilykelly. Honestly, I've done hundreds of bathroom remodels with push-ins on 15 amp lighting circuits and never had one melt. Could be a bad batch or maybe the wire wasn't fully seated.
