Overheard a customer bragging about fixing his own TV with a hair dryer - that thing is going to catch fire
Guy at the supply house yesterday said he dried out his TV board after a spill by blasting it with a hair dryer on high for 10 minutes. Has anyone else seen people wreck boards with heat guns or dryers when they should just use compressed air and patience?

Boy, haven't you heard some doozies working in this trade? I cringe every time I hear about someone using a hair dryer on electronics. The heat can loosen solder joints or even melt plastic connectors without you knowing it. Compressed air and letting things sit overnight is the only safe way, but people always want the quick fix. You have to wonder how many perfectly good boards have been ruined by impatience like that.
