Cleaned out my old tool bag and found a service tag from the First National Bank job in 2004
I hit 20 years on that one Otis traction machine we serviced downtown (the one with the weird grease fittings, you know the one). It just hit me that I've been signing off on its maintenance log for two decades now, which is wild because I still feel like the new guy sometimes. Anyone else have a piece of equipment they've been looking after for what feels like forever?

Honestly, that air handler outlasting three vans is a mood. I've got this one boiler from the 90s I swear is held together by my own shame and the cobwebs I never fully clean out. I'm starting to think my retirement fund and that old girl will give out around the same time.

Man, that's a long run with one machine. We've got this ancient air handler on a roof downtown I've been checking on since my first year. Still has the original belt drive and those handwritten logs from the 80s. It outlasted three of our service vans.

Original belt drives and handwritten logs from the 80s, that's a classic. Start taking pictures of those old log pages with your phone, just in case the paper finally gives out. It's saved my butt a few times when a client questions the service history.
