Vent: I was sure the new wireless diagnostic tool was just a gimmick until it saved me two hours tracing a fault in a 20-year-old controller last Tuesday.

The handheld unit picked up a signal from a failing relay our old wired tester missed, so has anyone else found a piece of tech they doubted that actually earned its keep?

My old boss bought a thermal camera I called a toy. It found a hot connection in a wall I would have torn apart for days. I still owe him a coffee for that one.
