Serious question, my microdermabrasion session went sideways

I was working on a client with what seemed like normal skin. I must have set the intensity too high without realizing it. Her face got really red and she said it stung a lot. I had to stop early and use a cool compress to help. Now I always do a slower test pass first.

I had a client where her skin flushed bright red from the suction too. Asking about recent sun or active products used helps me avoid bad reactions. A test spot on the jawline shows how the skin handles the pressure before I do the full face. I keep a chilled aloe gel in the fridge for quick cooling if things get warm. Reading the skin's response during that first pass tells me if I need to lower the setting.

Bright red from suction? That's crazy. I'd panic if I saw that.

Oh, I completely agree with doing a test spot first. I mean, one time I had a client whose skin looked okay at first, but after the first pass, it started to get really red. Idk, maybe it's just me, but I always keep the suction on the lower side for the first few minutes to see how it goes. If it gets too warm, I have a cool mist spray handy instead of aloe, and that usually calms things down fast. Reading how they feel during the process helps me adjust without making things worse.
