Switched to a silicone-based facial primer last month and had zero breakouts for the first time in years
I used my usual dimethicone-heavy one for a client's wedding look and it clogged MY pores the next day. Anyone else notice their own skin reacting differently to things you use on clients?

That dimethicone stuff is tricky. I had the same problem with a high-coverage foundation I started using on myself, and after a few days I was breaking out in places I normally never get pimples. Switching to a silicone-free primer with glycerin as the base made a huge difference for me, and now I'll only use the dimethicone type on clients if they specifically request it. Your skin can change over time too, which is annoying but happens to a lot of us as we get older.

Yeah that glycerin swap makes such a big difference. I had the same thing happen with a silicone heavy foundation last year and my chin just exploded with little bumps. Took me forever to figure out what was causing it. For me the fix was going back to a water based primer and cutting out anything with dimethicone high on the ingredients list. Skin really does just decide to hate what it used to love for no reason.
