Blew $800 on a fancy virtual event platform that flopped hard

I dropped $800 on this premium virtual event platform called EventFlow Pro back in April thinking it would make my hybrid conference look professional. Big mistake. The streaming kept lagging, the chat feature broke during my keynote speaker's session, and I had 40 people emailing me saying they couldn't get past the login screen. I spent 12 hours on the phone with their support team and they never fixed the issues. Lost about 30% of my ticket sales because people got frustrated and asked for refunds. Total waste of money and time. Has anyone else had a bad experience with those expensive all-in-one platforms for virtual events?

Not sure $800 qualifies as some life-ruining disaster though. People drop that on concert tickets without blinking. Maybe just stick with basic setup next time and save the cash for actual event production.

Yeah I went through something similar last year and ended up just using Zoom with a bunch of add-ons instead, worked way better and cost way less. Sometimes the simple stuff really is the answer.

Yeah, I heard a podcast just last week where a guy was saying the same thing about Zoom with add-ons. Seems like a lot of people are moving away from the fancy stuff, right?
