That week I pulled off a 300 person event with zero RSVPs the night before
Everyone talks about how you need confirmed headcounts to plan anything, but last October I ran a launch party here in Austin that had 0 RSVPs until 9pm the night before. By noon the day of, we had 120 confirmations, and by 6pm we hit 300 walk-ins. My team was scrambling to order more food and chairs from a local rental place that cost us $400 extra. It went smooth because we had over-ordered basics like cups and napkins, which everyone says is waste but saved us big. Has anyone else had a big event where the RSVPs just flooded in late like that?

@butler.finley you're so right about the pacing thing, I would have been a wreck too. It's like how some things in life just come together at the last possible second no matter how much you plan, you know? There's always that one friend who RSVPs late for everything or the package that shows up right when you gave up on it.

Whoa, hold on, zero RSVPs until 9pm the night before? That is insane. I would have been pacing a hole in my floor thinking the whole thing was a bust. It is wild to think you just had to trust the process and that everyone would actually show up at the last second like that.
