At a concert last month I watched someone film the entire show on their phone and I'm starting to think this whole 'live for the moment' thing is dying
I was at a small venue in Austin for a band I really like. The person in front of me had their phone up for every single song. Not even looking at the stage, just staring at their screen. It made me wonder if people even go to shows to actually experience them anymore or if it's just content for their story. I get wanting a memory but is a grainy 30 second clip really worth missing the whole show? Has anyone else noticed this getting worse?

Oh man, people get so worked up about this. I mean yeah it's annoying when someone's phone is right in your face but who cares how they enjoy the show? I've taken a few quick videos at concerts and honestly I barely watch them later but sometimes it's just fun to have. Unless they're literally blocking your view with a giant iPad or something let people do their thing.

Has anyone tried just tapping someone on the shoulder and asking them to lower their phone a bit? Worked for me once at a show when I couldn't see a thing, @sage_ramirez42. The guy actually apologized and only took a couple clips after that.

Man people gotta chill with this. @sage_ramirez42 is right honestly, like is a phone at a concert really the end of the world? Yeah it bugs me too when it's in my face but I've also taken a couple quick videos and never watched them again. It's not that deep. I think the whole "live in the moment" thing was always kind of fake anyway, half the crowd at most shows is on their phone between songs or just zoning out.
