Jumped into live audio chats and now I'm not sure they have legs

I joined one of those audio social apps when all my friends were raving about it. At first, it felt fresh to hear real voices instead of reading posts. But soon, I got tired of having to schedule my day around live talks. If I logged in five minutes late, I was lost and too shy to ask what I missed. The chats vanished after they ended, so there was no way to catch up later. These days, my feed is silent, and no one brings it up anymore. Is this trend already over, or will it evolve into something that lasts? I'm curious if others hit the same wall with audio social media.

Man, that whole live audio thing felt like trying to catch a bus that never stops. I joined a few rooms about vintage video games, and it was just a bunch of people talking over each other for an hour. What's the point if you can't even rewind to hear the one good tip someone shared? Maybe it's just me, but a forum thread you can read anytime seems way less stressful.
