Jumped on the 'post once, share everywhere' trend for my small shop.

I set up a tool to auto-post my Instagram pictures to Facebook and Twitter for a solid month. My Instagram likes dropped by almost half, and a customer actually called to ask if my shop was closing because my Facebook looked like a robot was running it. Is this push for total automation just a quick fix that hurts real connection, or is it the only way to keep up?

My local bakery switched to a digital menu board last year. It cycles through the same five pictures all day. I miss seeing the owner's handwriting on the chalkboard with the daily special, you know? That automation felt like they gave up telling me what was fresh. Your story about the customer calling really shows that. People can tell when the human touch is gone, and they start to think the heart of the business is gone too.

Wondering if we're reading too much into a menu board. That chalkboard took time to write every morning, and a digital screen might just free someone up to bake more. Maybe the heart of the business is still in the kitchen, not on the wall.

That customer call would've made me rethink automation too.
