That day I tried to jump a shopping cart over a speed bump in the Walmart parking lot

Ended up flipping the cart and myself into a display of potted plants outside the garden center, and the security guard just stood there shaking his head for a solid minute before asking if I needed a bandaid.

My buddy tried something similar at Target with one of those little kid carts. He made it about three feet before the wheels locked up and he went face first into a rack of chips. The cashier just handed him a broom and said "clean it up.

Target probably has that cart locked down harder than Fort Knox for a reason though. One lawsuit from a kid getting hurt and they'd be paying out way more than whatever they saved by not letting adults ride around. Respect your buddy's commitment but I side with the store on that one.

You said "Target probably has that cart locked down harder than Fort Knox for a reason though." @gavin_hill27 you're not wrong about the lawsuit thing but here's my deal. If a grown man can't ride a cart meant for a 40 pound kid without wiping out, maybe the problem isn't the cart. Everybody acts like adults riding those things is a crisis but I've seen kids do way dumber stuff on them and nobody bats an eye. What exactly is the lawsuit risk here? Like the guy falls, scrapes his knee, and suddenly Target owes him a million bucks? That seems like a stretch to me. Most of those cart accidents are just people being clumsy, not a design flaw. I'd rather see a store treat adults like adults and let them decide if they wanna risk it.
