Warning: I almost skipped a contract clause that saved me $2k
I was sure the 'kill fee' section in my standard contract was just lawyer talk, so I never pushed for it with new clients. Then a startup in Austin ghosted me halfway through a branding project after I'd done 15 hours of work. Because I finally added that clause specifying 50% of the project fee for cancellation, I could actually invoice for the time spent. Has anyone else had a specific contract term turn out to be way more important than they thought?

That's why fine print can be your best friend sometimes.

Yeah, fine print being your best friend is so true. I read about a guy who found a crazy loophole in a gym contract because he actually read all of it.

Totally agree. Saw a story where someone got out of a phone contract early because the company messed up the font size in a clause. Another time a guy avoided a huge bank fee by pointing out the notice period wasn't clear. It pays to skim that tiny text, boring as it is. What's the wildest loophole you've heard of?
