Rant: My phone's battery was dying by noon until I tried this dumb trick
I read a review for the Pixel 8 that said to turn off 'adaptive connectivity' and I was desperate, so I did it last Tuesday. My battery now lasts until almost 7pm on a single charge, which is a huge change. Has anyone else found a simple software toggle that made a bigger difference than any hardware review promised?

Oh man, that's the real fix right there. I turned off 5G on my last phone and it was the same story, just stopped burning through power for no reason. Software updates can really mess with that stuff.

Honestly I always thought those "one weird trick" things were total nonsense... but my old phone was doing the same thing, dying before lunch. I turned off background app refresh on a whim and it was like getting a new battery. It's crazy how much power those little background tasks use up without you even knowing.

Wait, does this mean I have to admit my phone problems might actually be my own fault and not just bad luck? Guess I'll have to find something else to blame for why my phone dies at 2pm.
