Vent: I thought the new Kindle Paperwhite was just another screen, but it actually got me reading again.

I got the 6.8 inch model last Christmas after my sister insisted, thinking it was a waste. The screen is so much easier on my eyes than my old tablet, and I've finished 12 books since January. What gadget surprised you by being way better than you expected?

What gadget was a game changer for you? My noise cancelling headphones shocked me, I only got them for flights. Now I wear them to focus at home and they block out everything.

Wait, are they really that good? I tried a pair once and all I got was a weird pressure feeling in my ears, like being underwater. They cut out the AC hum, sure, but my dog barking or a door slamming still came through clear as day. Maybe my expectations were just too high.
