Saw a wild setup at a garage sale in Mesa that got me thinking
Honestly, I was driving through Mesa last weekend and stopped at a garage sale that had a full metal lathe sitting next to a kid's bike. The guy running it said he used it to make custom parts for his old Ford, but he had it wired into a regular garage outlet with what looked like a homemade extension cord. It made me wonder about the line between DIY ingenuity and just being unsafe. Has anyone else seen a garage tool setup that made you genuinely nervous?

Did he at least have a proper breaker on that thing, or was he just trusting the cord?

Honestly @king.wyatt, I'm more worried about the outlet he plugged it into being up to code!

People skip the basics everywhere now. You see it with phone chargers daisy-chained across rooms, or extension cords buried under rugs. It's like we all just hope nothing bad happens.
