Debating with my spouse over letting our teen apprentice in the shop

I see it as passing on a craft, she sees it as inviting trouble, so I'm curious where other smiths stand on this.

Passing on a craft? Start with strict safety rules.

The problem with @seth683's method is it often makes people too scared to ever use the tools right.

Sarah's teen messed up once, but now teaches safety to others.
