Our seed round closed smoothly, but now I'm seeing complacency creep in
We finally closed our seed round last month, which was a relief. However, I've observed team meetings becoming less focused. For instance, discussions now drift into tangential features instead of core product issues. It's subtle, but the urgency has dipped since the cash hit the bank. I caught myself approving a non-essential software subscription without a second thought. This isn't a crisis yet, but it's a slippage that could derail our next milestones. Let's stay sharp.

Cash cushion makes everyone a little too comfy... saw it with a client's team last year. Their project timelines stretched out right after their own round. You gotta track the small spends, like that software sub. It's never one big thing, it's twenty little leaks. Tighten up the meeting agendas and question every new cost, even the small ones.

Absolutely, we slipped into the same comfort zone and had to enforce strict spending reviews.
