I had to dig through a Canadian government website to find their tax treaty article number. I lost a full week's worth of billable hours, about $2,500, just to get this one page right. It was supposed to be a simple international project. Now I make new clients send their business registration docs before I even quote. Has anyone else had a tax form blow up like this, especially with overseas work?

I finally figured out how to make my detail views less messy.

Honestly, I used to pack my detail views with every single line and dimension I could think of. It made the drawings look cluttered and confused the fabricators. Tbh, I got called out on it last month when a project got delayed. A coworker sat with me and showed how to isolate only the critical features. Now, I use simpler callouts and leave out the redundant info. My drawings are clearer and I spend less time fixing mistakes. Ngl, it was a bit embarrassing to learn this after years in the trade, but it's made a huge difference. I hope this helps anyone else who might be doing the same thing.
