Update: Our shop's move to a digital task list fixed more than just mix-ups

We had this old clipboard system for writing down which car each mechanic was working on. It led to constant mix-ups, like two guys starting on the same brake job. Last month, the manager set up a simple app on a shop tablet where we check off jobs as we take them. Now, everyone can see the live list, and there's no arguing over who did what. I used to think these tools were just extra hassle, but it actually makes the day flow better. We spend less time figuring out work and more time getting it done. It hit me that sometimes the biggest repair in a shop isn't on a car, it's on how we talk to each other. A small change like this can really cut down on the daily stress.

Seeing brands jump on every trend feels off to me.

Part of me gets it, they want in on the buzz. But it often feels forced and not genuine. What's your take on corporate tries to go viral?

Update: That repeating rest stop in Nebraska messed with my head

I was driving through Nebraska last Tuesday, heading west on I-80. I stopped at a rest area to stretch my legs, it had a blue sign and a picnic table. Got back on the road, drove for about an hour, and saw the exact same rest area. Same blue sign, same picnic table, even the same crack in the pavement. I checked my map, no loops or turns, just straight highway. This happened three times, I swear I wasn't tired or lost. It was like the road was copying itself, a real glitch. If you're driving that route, keep an eye out, it's not just you.
