inI finally had to stop my dad from tweaking the washer during a fix
Last time my cousin tried to help with plumbing, I just had him hand me tools so he wouldn't mess anything up... It keeps them involved without risking damage to the repair. Sometimes you gotta redirect that helpful energy to safer tasks.

inMy project car taught me that old school tuning beats flashy computers.
Watched my buddy spend two days chasing a weird idle with a scan tool. Finally just listened to the engine and had it fixed in twenty minutes. The computer said everything was fine, but his ears knew better.

inWhy I never shoe a wet hoof, no matter how impatient the owner gets.
Your post reminds me of my friend Jake's disaster with painting his kitchen. He was in a hurry to finish before a party, so he didn't wait for the primer to dry fully. He painted over it, and within hours, the paint started peeling off. He had to redo the whole thing, which took twice as long. It's exactly like your bread dough example, @the_paige, rushing just ruins the outcome. Now he always lets things dry properly, lol.

inI finally sorted through my dad's old review magazines from the 90s.
Sure some online reviews are lazy, but good ones still test things for real.
