Threw $600 at Facebook ads for a local bakery and got 2 clicks
I run a small bakery in Toledo and thought I'd try Facebook ads to get more people in for our weekend specials. Set up a targeting campaign for people within 10 miles who like baking pages, spent $600 over two weeks. Ended up with 2 clicks to our website and zero store visits that I could track. I'm pretty sure my audience was too narrow or the ad creative just sucked. Has anyone else burned cash on social ads for a local business and found something that actually works?

Small world! I actually work in Toledo too. Try boosting a post instead of running a separate ad campaign.

Oh man, I remember reading somewhere that small businesses usually see way better results from local news feed posts or community Facebook groups instead of straight ads... people just scroll past ads without thinking.

@chen.casey I ran a small bakery a few years back and yeah, posting in the neighborhood Facebook group got way more orders than any Facebook ad I ever paid for. People actually trust that stuff more.
