My $20 silicon air fryer liner was a total waste

I bought one of those flexible silicon liners for my air fryer basket about a month ago. It was 20 bucks on Amazon and seemed like a great idea to keep the basket clean. Problem is, it blocked so much airflow that my chicken came out soggy and pale every time. I tried it three different ways with different foods and got the same bad results. The worst part was when I cooked some frozen fries and they took almost twice as long to crisp up. I pulled the liner out and tossed it in the drawer after that. Has anyone else had better luck with those things or am I doing something wrong?

Dude I had the exact same problem. Those silicone liners look like a good idea but they trap all the heat and moisture underneath the food instead of letting the air circulate around everything. What worked way better for me was just getting some perforated parchment paper rounds made for air fryers. They let the air flow through but still catch the drips and make cleanup way easier. That or just spray the basket with nonstick spray every time and wipe it out while its still warm. The silicone thing is a gimmick, don't waste more time on it.

3 dollars at the grocery store for a roll of the perforated parchment paper and it lasts me like 6 months. I don't get why people get so heated about air fryer liners to be honest. I've seen someone do a whole 10 minute YouTube rant about these things, like it's the biggest betrayal of their life. Flip your food halfway or don't, the chicken nuggets are going to come out fine either way.

Nah I love mine, you just gotta flip the food halfway through.
