Hardwired vs wireless for a 3 story townhouse

Had to choose between running wires through 3 floors of old plaster or going all wireless for a downtown Chicago job. Picked wireless to save time, but now the second floor sensor keeps dropping signal. Anyone deal with range issues on multi level buildings?

My neighbor in the same setup runs a Ubiquiti mesh system and swears by it for plaster walls. He told me plaster kills wifi worse than concrete because of the metal lath inside. Maybe try moving the main router to a central spot on the second floor landing instead of keeping it in the basement. Also check if the channel is getting crowded, I had to switch to 5GHz on mine and it helped a ton with interference from all the neighbors around here.

Yo wait, did you check if your second floor sensor is on a crowded channel?

Had a buddy @derekjenkins swear his plaster walls killed every wifi signal until he hardwired a single access point to the second floor.
