Serious question, why do so many guys skip the final walk test with the homeowner?

I just took over a job from another installer who got fired. The panel was live, sensors worked, but the keypad by the garage door was dead. Homeowner said the other guy never tested it with them after install, just left. That's a guaranteed callback. I always do a full walk with the client, point to each sensor, make it beep. Takes 10 minutes. How do you handle your final walkthrough?

Guaranteed callback is right. I once skipped it to beat traffic and spent the next day fixing a door contact. Learned that lesson the hard way.

Ugh, been there. I tried to rush a final walkthrough once and missed a whole zone offline. That extra ten minutes would have saved me a two hour drive back.

Oh man, that reminds me of the time I forgot to check the garage door sensor. Had to go back in a downpour because it showed offline after I left. Worst Tuesday ever.
