A customer told me my diagnostic approach was 'like a squirrel looking for its nuts'
He said I was jumping from one guess to another without a real plan. I mean, he wasn't wrong. Now I always start with the tech sheet and a voltage check, even if I'm sure it's the control board. Anyone else have a client give you a reality check that actually helped?

That's how we all learn the basics for real.

Honestly, that's so true. Like ray363 said, it's the real learning, and it forces you to build a system you can actually trust. I got called out for guessing once too and it stung, but it made me a better tech.
