My sunroof got ripped off during a cross-country haul in Arizona

I was shipping my 2018 Honda Civic from Phoenix to Nashville last summer and the driver called me on day two. He said a strong gust caught the sunroof near Flagstaff and tore it clean off the frame. I was pretty upset since I had prepped the car myself and thought it was secure. The company offered me $200 compensation but a replacement sunroof cost me $850 at a local shop. I learned to always double-check any loose panels or trim before handing over the keys. Has anyone else had damage from wind during transport and how did you handle the claim process?

And that 200 bucks probably didn't cover your deductible either. They know most people will just take the small offer and move on. You really have to get their insurance company involved right away to get anywhere.

You said the sunroof got ripped clean off. Man, that's rough. I once had a bumper cover peel back like a banana peel during a haul through New Mexico. The driver didn't even notice until he stopped for gas. I've learned to tape down anything that looks remotely loose with painters tape now. It looks ridiculous but it beats paying for repairs.

Yeah but $200 is insulting for an $850 repair. That company owes you way more than that. Shouldve pushed harder on their insurance.
