Figured out I was hiking with my poles totally backwards after 3 trips

I was on the Appalachian Trail near Harpers Ferry last month and this older guy just stopped me and asked if my wrists hurt. Turns out I had the straps going over my hands instead of coming up from underneath and pressing into them. I'd been gripping the handles like crazy for like 60 miles wondering why my forearms were so sore. Has anyone else had a random stranger point out a basic hiking mistake you've been making for months?

Used to think it didn't matter. You changed my mind.

Three years ago I tried tracking my spending for just one month and it completely flipped how I saw my own money. I was honestly shocked at how much was going to takeout and little subscriptions I forgot about. After that I started doing a simple cash envelope thing for groceries and eating out and it made a huge difference. Not saying it works for everyone but for me seeing the actual numbers really clicked. Might be worth trying if you haven't already, even just for a few weeks.

Read somewhere that most people spend way more on small stuff than big purchases. That cash envelope trick sounds smart, might look into it.
