Visited a small bakery in Asheville and saw them using a huge wooden peel

They were sliding loaves into a massive brick oven with this thing that looked like a giant pizza paddle. The baker said it helps get the bread in deep without burning your arms. Do you all use peels or just baking sheets for your hearth breads?

That Asheville baker is smart, my forearms still have scars from trying to use a baking sheet.

My sister has a scar on her wrist from a cookie sheet edge that looks like a knife cut. @holly713, that's wild yours are still there. I burned my arm on the oven rack last week just trying to rotate a pan. It's like they make all this stuff with hidden razor blades. You need full armor just to make some brownies.

Yeah the "forearms still have scars" part is so real. I've noticed a lot of everyday stuff like baking sheets or oven racks is just designed wrong, like they never asked someone who actually cooks. It's all sharp edges and bad handles that get you every time.
