Tried using a kitchen scale for the first time last weekend and my cookies came out perfect
I've been baking cookies for like 8 years and always used measuring cups. My sister gave me a cheap scale for my birthday. Decided to weigh out the flour instead of scooping it. Every single cookie looked identical. No flat ones, no puffy ones. Has anyone else switched and noticed a big difference?

OH MAN yes this is SO true! I was a TOTAL skeptic for years, thought scales were just for fancy bakers. Finally got one after my chocolate chip cookies kept coming out like frisbees one batch and rocks the next. Weighed my flour for the VERY first time and it was like a magic trick. My cookies came out EXACTLY the same size and texture, no more guessing if I packed the cup too tight or left it too loose. Now I even weigh my brown sugar and butter, it's made a HUGE difference for my banana bread too.

Does anyone notice their dough handles differently too? When I switched to weighing, my dough was way less sticky and easier to roll into balls without needing extra flour. I think the precision changes the moisture balance enough that it actually feels different in your hands, not just looks different coming out of the oven.
