Just realized my buddy's 'post and ghost' method is why his engagement is so low
He told me he just drops a video and doesn't reply to a single comment for the first 2 hours, which basically tells the algorithm nobody's home, right?

Honestly my friend tried that exact thing with her baking channel last month. She posted a cake decorating tutorial and went to run errands for like three hours. Came back to maybe five comments and the video just died, it never got shown to anyone. Tbh she was so confused until I told her she basically ignored the first people who showed up to her party. Now she sets a timer and makes sure to chat with the first few comments right away.

That's a solid way to kill your reach. Early comments are the most important signal. The algorithm just moves on to the next video.
