Pro tip: My Iceland trip showed me geo-tags can wreck your post reach
I was posting all these cool northern lights shots from my trip, but with location tags on, they got buried. Switched to posting without them at 7 PM local time, and boom, way more people saw them. It's frustrating how such a small change made such a big difference, lol. Now I tell all my friends to watch their tagging when traveling.

Disagree with blaming geo-tags for your reach problems. Your content might have been boring or posted at a slow time before. Geo-tags help people find posts about places they like, so they can actually bring in more viewers. Switching up your posting time probably made the difference, not ditching the tags. You are just guessing without real proof.

Timing mattered, not tags. You got lucky.

Exactly, it's all about when you post. I had the same thing happen last week, posted the same picture at two different times and the later one got way more eyes on it. The tags were the same both times, so what else could it be? Makes you wonder why we even bother with all those extra steps sometimes.
