My daughter told me the 'quiet luxury' trend was just rich people dressing boring

She said the whole thing was just a marketing strategy to sell simple clothes for a lot of money. I watched a video breakdown showing how one brand's $2000 plain t-shirt campaign got 15 million views in a week. Has anyone else seen a viral trend that was really just clever branding?

Yeah, my friend got totally sucked into that whole "clean girl" look last year. She spent like $300 on a beige cardigan and a slicked back bun kit, and I mean, she looked nice, but it was the same vibe as her old stuff. It's exactly what @kelly_west74 said, just a new name on the same cycle. The brands make you feel like you're buying into a whole lifestyle, not just a plain shirt, and that's the clever part. It works every time.

Right, @kelly_west74 nailed it with the cycle thing.

That quiet luxury thing is basically just rich people cosplaying as normal (which is pretty funny). It reminds me of that "normcore" trend from a few years back that was also just expensive boring clothes. The cycle just keeps repeating with a new name.
