Question about that influencer who faked a whole meet-cute story

So I saw this TikTok from a girl in Austin who claimed a stranger bought her coffee and left his number on the napkin. It got 2 million views and everyone was like "so cute." Then a friend pointed out the handwriting matched the guy in her previous video's friend. I looked closer and yep, same pen style and everything. Has anyone else traced back a viral moment and found out it was completely staged, or am I overthinking this?

Wait, people actually fake stuff like that? I used to roll my eyes at anyone who questioned viral rom-com moments, but you just changed my mind. That's way too specific to be a coincidence.

Keep an eye on things like lighting setups or mismatched reflections next time you see one of those videos. I've caught a few obvious fakes just by spotting how the shadows don't match the supposed time of day or camera angle. Once you start looking for the small production tells, it's hard to unsee them.

Yeah, I think @finley729 is onto something, but there's a small thing people get wrong. Those rom-com moments usually have at least three cameras filming from different angles, not just one. So when you see a "spontaneous" kiss or proposal go viral, look for cuts between shots that change too cleanly. Real life doesn't have that kind of perfect coverage. And the shadows thing is real, I caught one where the sunset direction was off by about 45 degrees from what it should have been for that city and time of year. It's pretty wild what people will stage for likes.
