Appreciation post: the person who told me to skip season 3 of that one crime drama

I was three episodes into season 3 of "Criminal Minds: Reloaded" and hating every minute. My buddy Dave said "just skip to season 4, the showrunner changed and it gets way better." I ignored him for a week, then finally gave in. Season 4 was a totally different show with tighter stories and less drama between characters. Has anyone else had a friend save them from a slog by telling them what to skip?

Nah, I gotta push back on this. I sat through all of Criminal Minds: Reloaded season 3 and honestly it's the best season of the whole show. The interpersonal drama is what makes it feel real, not some sterile procedural with no stakes. If you skip it you miss the whole payoff when things finally click in season 4, you just don't care about the characters' relationships as much. Skipping stuff is like reading only the last chapter of a book, you don't earn the good parts.

Oh man, that's wild @jamesfox! My buddy Laura wasted three months on a supernatural show trying to force herself through a bad season, and only after she quit did someone tell her season 2 was completely skippable, she was so mad lmao.
