I used to skip the 'Previously On' recaps for The Bear, but now I always watch them

Honestly, I used to think they were just filler and would skip straight to the new episode. But after getting confused about a major plot point in season 2, I went back and watched the recap for that episode. It actually highlighted specific, tense moments from past episodes that directly set up the new conflict. Now I watch the 90-second recap every time and it makes the show way more intense. Does anyone else have a show where the recap is actually essential?

Man, my buddy had the same thing happen with Dark. He jumped into a new season totally lost, skipped all the recaps. He had to rewatch the whole last episode just to figure out who was even related to who. Now he swears by them. Those recaps are a lifesaver for a complicated plot.

Oh man, I feel that. I did the exact same thing with that show. Skipped the recap for season two, got five minutes in, and had zero clue who the old guy in the cave even was. I spent the whole episode thinking he was someone's secret uncle, but nope, it was just the main guy from the future. Had to go back and watch the recap anyway. Never skipping one again, lol.

Had a buddy ruin a whole season of Westworld doing that. He skipped the recap for season 3 and spent the first twenty minutes thinking the guy in the lab coat was a completely new character. Turned out it was just Bernard from season 1 with a beard and some new glasses. He had to backtrack and watch the whole recap halfway through the episode anyway.
