Vent: My book club's fight over a single chapter derailed our whole month

Last Tuesday, we spent 45 minutes arguing whether the main character's choice in chapter 12 was selfish or justified, and now nobody wants to finish the book. Has anyone else had a group get stuck on one plot point and lose all momentum?

Chapter 12 is the whole point of the book actually.

Man I've been saying this for years. That chapter hit different after I actually tried applying it to my own life instead of just reading through. Once you get that part, the rest of the book starts making way more sense.

@ray363 yeah that hit different for me too once I finally stopped skimming and actually did the exercises.
