Vent: That influencer who said 'just start posting' gave me bad advice

My friend Sarah who runs a skincare brand told me to just post raw apologies and skip the lawyer review after a shipping disaster last month. I did it and the backlash was brutal because I admitted fault too openly and got sued. Has anyone else had a PR coach steer you wrong in a crisis?

I used to believe in that raw honesty approach, but your lawsuit totally changed my mind.

That lawsuit was about a specific violation of a non-disclosure agreement, not about honesty itself. The other person broke a signed promise not to share private business details, and that's a different thing than being raw and open. You can still value honest communication without signing contracts you don't intend to keep.
