That 3-hour call with Comcast that should have been 20 minutes

I spent an entire Sunday afternoon trying to cancel my internet service in Portland, and the rep kept transferring me to different departments. Three separate agents asked for my account number again even though I gave it to the first guy. Has anyone else dealt with a brand that just won't let you leave without a fight?

Why do companies make it impossible to just quit?

Oh man, Comcast is the absolute worst for that. I went through the same circus trying to cancel my cable a few years back and I swear they put me on hold for so long I almost gave up. Three hours is brutal, you have the patience of a saint. They really do hope you'll just get tired and hang up. Makes you wonder how many people they keep on the hook that way.

Cracked me up reading this because you're not wrong - they definitely count on people just giving up lol. I had to call to switch to a new provider last month and I swear I aged like five years just sitting there listening to that terrible hold music. Kept telling myself "one more minute" over and over like a fool. Honestly I think they should pay us for the time we spend waiting, that'd be fair compensation for the patience tax or whatever.
